The Nicholas Meat Fall Quarterly is now available. In this edition, you’ll find a salute to our workers as we celebrate Labor Day. Other news includes the latest on the Sustainability Resource Facility, support for area youth at local fairs, Meat Our People and more.
Ranked as one of the top 15 employers in Clinton County, Nicholas Meat proudly celebrates Labor Day and gives tremendous thanks to the labor force that helps make our plant run smoothly each day. Labor Day, which became a federal holiday in 1894, was first started to recognize the contributions made by American workers to the nation’s strength and prosperity. In our opinion, this has not changed in the 130 years since its inception.
We are proud to work alongside such talented and passionate individuals who consistently strive for the best in everything they do.
“Without our dedicated workers, Nicholas Meat would not be able to provide nutritious beef to families in the U.S. and abroad,” said Doug Nicholas, VP & COO of Nicholas Meat, LLC. “The commitment to quality, safety and excellence by our employees is the backbone of our success. Their unwavering focus on these core values has enabled us to achieve outstanding results as a beef supplier.”
Nicholas Meat currently employs more than 400 people. One way that Nicholas Meat celebrates its employees is through the annual company picnic, which is enjoyed by employees and their families.
Nicholas Meat also honors the dedication and hard work of those who work in acres, not hours—the farmers who raise cattle that may eventually be sold to Nicholas Meat. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Pennsylvania agriculture contributes $132.5 billion to the state’s economy annually and supports more than 593,000 jobs or roughly one in every 10 jobs in the state.
“We appreciate the dedication shown by our area farmers during fall harvest and, truthfully, throughout the year as they grow crops and care for their animals,” Nicholas continued. “Just as it is with our employees, we are very appreciative of the work they do to feed America every day.”
Farmers embody the true spirit of perseverance and resilience, facing the challenges of the seasons with unwavering determination. We thank farmers for your invaluable contributions and for being the backbone of our nation’s food supply. Here’s to a safe and bountiful fall harvest.
