Progress on Sustainable Resource Facility to Impact PA Rt. 880 Traffic Flow

March 21, 2023

As progress continues in building the Sustainable Resource Facility, we want our neighbors to be aware that local traffic will be affected. We appreciate your patience as we move forward with this significant project.

Beginning the week of March 27, traffic flow on PA Rt. 880 east of Loganton between the Nicholas Meat plant and the construction site of the Sustainable Resource Facility will be impacted.

The initial work will involve shoulder widening followed by construction that will restrict traffic to a single lane. Timed traffic signal lights will be installed to manage traffic flow.

Nicholas Meat contractors will be installing a tunnel under PA Rt. 880 in front of the meat processing plant. This tunnel will serve to convey utilities between the processing plant on the south side of Rt. 880 and the new Sustainable Resource Facility on the north side of Rt. 880.  Pennsylvania Department of Transportation inspectors will be onsite throughout the construction, and we are committed to working with them and our contractors to ensure proper safety standards and minimize traffic delays.

We expect this work to continue through early August and encourage motorists to plan accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience as we complete this milestone of our environmentally beneficial Sustainable Resource Facility. Watch the latest SRF progress video.
